Team Information

Participating as a team makes Walk for the Homeless even more fun! You can walk with co-workers, your school, or family and friends. Some teams are formed through church groups, civic clubs, businesses, professional associations, and schools. A Walk Team can be formed just about anywhere!

What Is A Team?

A Walk for the Homeless Team consists of 5 to 10 people who commit to raise at an average of $500-$1000 in pledges as a whole. Each Team should choose a Team Captain who can motivate and recruit more team members. Some Teams even make up names and special hats or buttons to make themselves stand out from the rest the day of the Walk!

Be A Team Captain!

There are so many reasons to become a Team Captain, and it is so easy to do! Captains are the heart of their Team by helping to recruit, organize & motivate their Team Members. Captains can aid in their team fundraising by organizing Pledge Parties at work, home, or group meetings, and the more they motivate their teammates to raise, the more prizes they can earn, working toward the Team Grand Prize! Simply recruit a few friends, and you have formed a Walk for the Homeless Team. It's that easy!

Register Your Team Today!

Once you have decided to participate as a Team, you can Register for the Walk & Run! Each team member must register individually, either on-line or by filling out a registration form; they are also responsible for raising and submitting their own pledges, to be put toward your Team Pledge Total. When registering, be sure to fill in your Team Captain's name. Captains will receive a Team Registration Packet that will contain all the information needed to get started, including pledge envelopes, a map of the Walk & Run route, fundraising tips, and more!

Because you will have worked so hard to support homeless families in need, special prizes will be awarded to the Team that raises the most pledges over $1000! Incentives are also awarded for the total amount of pledges you earn as an individual Walker. Prizes include Hillcrest branded T-Shirts, Sweatshirts, Wind Jackets and more!
